My 100th Bolinger Snapshots Blog Post

This is my 100th blog post – WOO HOO!  I just got back to writing a few weeks ago, after having taken a looooong break….  So, it doesn’t really feel like we should be celebrating 100 blog posts yet, but here we are!  And I am excited!

To commemorate this blogging milestone, I’d like to sponsor a GIVEAWAY!!!!  All of the cool kids on the cool blogs are doing it!  Bear with me; more details to come shortly.

I wanted to make a special gift for one of my very, very good friends for her birthday in January.  She and I thoroughly enjoy made-from-scratch gifts because they are one-of-a-kind and made with love!  So, to begin with, I automatically thought:  how could I freshen up and modernize a photo frame for the queen of refurbished/repurposed frames?!?  This girl has done some amazing things with photo frames! This was my photo frame remake for Becky: IMG_3270 I spray painted a gold photo frame from the thrift store until it was jet black and glossy.  Then, covered the photo mat with another awesome thrift store find:  burlap fabric with fuzzy black pattern (looks like Becky’s style)!  And, last but not least, printed out a photo of the two of us from New Year’s Eve and secured it in the frame.  Becky will most certainly appreciate that this project cost under $5.00 to make! She and I live for finding bargains!

But also, I’d been wanting to try out a new jewelry project for months that just wasn’t making it to the top of my crafting “to-do” list fast enough…  Becky’s birthday was my perfect excuse to give this project a try! IMG_3265 I started out by making the necklace (above) for Becky…. IMG_3262 Loved the finished product, so decided to make this moroccan print necklace for myself….  and wore it to Boston! DSC_7373 Came home from Boston and ended up having WAY TOO MUCH FUN….!!!!!             Floral Circle (1), Moroccan Circle (2), Chevron Circle (3), Fluer Circle (4), and Polka Dot Circle (5)  DSC_7402 Alphabet Square (1), Sheet Music Square (2), B&W Grid Square (3), Floral Square (4), Zebra Square (5) DSC_7398 Green Floral Square (1), Yellow Floral Square (2), Red Floral Square (3), Teal Dots Square (4), Orange Floral Square (5) DSC_7395 Patterned Purple/Blue (1), Patterned Red (2), Patterned Yellow (3), and Patterned Purple White (4) DSC_7391 Patterned Blue (1), Patterned Red/Teal (2), Patterned Orange (3), Patterned Green (4)

So, as you can see, this has become a little bit of an obsession….  And this is what I’d like to do with a couple of the necklaces from my unexpected jewelry collection:

GIVEAWAY NOTIFICATION – I will be giving away TWO of my handmade necklaces today in order to commemorate this 100th blog post!   If you’d like to be the proud owner of a unique, handmade piece of jewelry, then leave a comment here on my blog (at the bottom of the page) OR you can leave a comment on Facebook.  One comment per person, comment must be made today before midnight.  If you leave a comment, then I’ll put your name into a random drawing and announce the two winners tomorrow afternoon. The winners will get to choose which necklace they want from the ones photographed above (I’ve listed easy identifiers under each group pic).  And I will mail them out!  Easy Peasy!

A few more jewelry details:  the necklaces are silver ball chains and the pendants (circle and square) are one inch silver plated pieces, each with a glass dome. After the giveaway closes and the winners have chosen their necklaces, I will post several of the other necklaces on my Ruffled Rose Accessories Facebook page for sale to replenish my crafting fund.  The link for that page is:  https://www.facebook.com/pages/Ruffled-Rose-Handmade-Accessories/184762928238410    So, if you don’t win one, please consider buying one!  Otherwise, I guess I’ll have a necklace for every day of the month!  LOL! Happy 100th Post!!!  😀
